From sea to shining sea
Blank juxtaposition of altered texts within the amber sky of dross
dirt all over my face like I'm a man and I shave
swimming with dogs and children through a little place on a map
mortal aches and pains settling in like a classic car in the wash
planted medicine plants and dreams of opium suicide seem dumb
mortal fears and feral youth stupidly painted on the alley fence
plastic over her eyes she smokes away her pain but it will still get her
moving on a journey that doesn't seem to matter, a train through my own self
mirrors sing in the shower when no body is watching
trigger the drivel and response brush, bank toward insufficient funds shining brightly
I am better than a random phrase generator on a Tuesday
broken
broken text
broken sadness
broken dreams
broken head
broken hip
broken ears
broken eyes
broken marriages
broken into two pieces, turned around, and glued back together
healed and whole again
whole
wisdom
wisdom and symbols
a dog lying at our feet, playing with a new tomorrow
youth and old age, dying gracefully, living right now nonetheless
a world not fit for children, electrical preparations for the coming dawn
we have been around and know the signs
omens in the stars, fools with laws, a knife in the hand of a butcher
this is the world
