electric sun flew down
spreading his angel wings
the grass was quiet
and love listened softly
nobody erased anything
but the desire to brag
the buildings whistled
and the river moved
over the breaks and tumbled ruins
shots rang out in memory
like bells in the empty sky
the snow fell against the light
nobody moved
the witness said nothing
a sound was heard
in the old oak tree
smoke drifted up
his old fingers didn't care about pain
didn't give a shit
he watched the pretty leaves on the water
and drifted into the silent mystery
when the darkness was complete
the coyote could be heard
the water still fell
and the dawn always came
