New Moon Piano

Invisible Sun

He raised his hands and parted the vaporous clouds of glory and scum
And the sun shone down upon the land and blood dripped out from the bong
And dogs could be heard in the howling of the wind
And nothing seemed to last long

The ice buckled the strip and bent back the asphalt like a dictionary
And the water ran out and the rails blew and something weird capped the tops of the trees
And the sheep ran for the center of the storm, all the while pointing white fingers at their neighbors
And the children floated in the din and raised their spoons, gesturing for the skulls of doom

King fish blew bubbles and whales called out to their long dead mothers under the wavering road of moonlight
And shells were old and turned to sand and dust
And all the days groaned on about how the destruction was imminent
And no one spoke for fear of influencing the wave

All turned away from the game at once
And a blistering and immediate sun rose from inside and became known
And was experienced as a real and true thing
And did burn with a heavenly and holy light

An illuminated shame arose and a transformation softened the selfish pallor of the cruel
And it showed them the reason why
And vacant stares replaced their insipid cynical laughter
And the devices gathered dust and broke into pieces in the bland plastic sunrise

Myriad possibilities were lit by this new and invisible light
And a gentleness and kindness spilled out from the dead bodies of the captious masses
And an orange glow was seen on the surface of the sea
And opened were their hearts to this wonderful new heat

Like a crazy mother screaming the change happened all at once
And a new music could be sensed surrounding the twice dead shells of clay
And it awoke and broke free
And the invisible sun froze the controls of the bomb

Then water vapor filled the veins of  icy metal tubes
And a jerking crack opened the the brittle bone of latent hatred
And smothered by this new and incandescent body it frothed in agony
And the aeon was exposed as gesticulating and unnecessary shadows

Exposed as hollowness, Supremacy was an illusion of carpetbaggers
And unmasked the visions fled
And scattered like greasy rats throughout heavens language of paradise
And leaving the ghosts in the machine only a helpless landscape of eyes

Then having taken shape the one did sweep the rug clean
And the rushing waters did purr like fire
And the sound of a diamond star did ring forever like a gong
And the epoch closed with the white dwarf singing his song
